Cooking Tips: Dishwasher position

It may seem counter-intuituive, but if you're right handed, the best location for the dishwasher is to the left of the sink cabinet. The action of washing and placing dishes into the dishwasher has been studied by ergonomic experts. Of course, be sure that you have enough clearance for the dishwasher door to fully open.
