Cooking Tips: Avoiding glasses "etching"

Certain types of glassware will etch in the dishwasher, and is generally a result of a combination of automatic dishwasher detergent, soft water, high water temperatures (over 140 degrees), insufficient rinsing, overloading and the heat of drying. There is no way to such etching. Try using less detergent, lower water temperatures, not overloading, no-heat dry, and consider using a rinse agent.
