Gooey and delicious cake using a German Chocolate Cake Mix.  Easy and fun!

Ingredients

  • 18 1/2 ounce package German Chocolate cake mix
  • 14 ounce package caramels (unwrapped)
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Make cake according to directions on the package
  3. Pour half the batter in a 13X9 cake pan and bake for 15 minutes
  4. In a saucepan, heat up caramels, milk, and butter until caramels and butter are melted, stirring constantly
  5. Pour caramel mixture over baked cake
  6. Top with nuts and chocolate chips
  7. Spread remaining batter over the top
  8. Bake for 20 minutes
