Party nachos get a new twist.  Try this recipe for cheesy Nacho Bake at your next party.

Variations: 1. add black beans and corn to your layering. 2. Try it with chicken instead of beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1, 12 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 7 cups tortilla chips
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 1 green onion, sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Use a large skillet to brown ground beef. Drain and return to skillet.
  3. Add tomatoes, water and taco seasoning to meat in skillet.
  4. Stir and cook about 10 minutes.
  5. Add 1/4 cup sour cream and stir.
  6. In a 13x9 pan, layer chips with meat/cheese mixture. Repeat.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes then top with onions and remaining sour cream.
