With its slightly Asian take on a beef stew, Hearty Steak Bake is a great addition to any winter weather kitchen. Warm up with this easy recipe today.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin steak
- 1 cup Bisquick, plus 1/4 cup
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 16 ounces frozen green beans, potatoes, onion, and red peppers (thawed)
- 14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon sesame seed
Directions
- Cut beef into 1 inch cubes then coat in a mixture of 1/4 cup Bisquick and pepper.
- Cook beef in a skillet with hot oil, just until browned.
- In an ungreased 13x9-inch pan, combine beef, vegetables, tomatoes, water, soy sauce, and molasses.
- Bake in a 400 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 15 minutes.
- While beef mixture is baking, mix 1 cup Bisquick, milk, mustard, and egg together; drop by spoonfuls over beef mixture.
- Sprinkle with sesame seed then bake an additional 20 minutes. Serve when biscuits are done.
