Fresh Broccoli Salad is a great, healthy dish. It is especially good in the summer, but can be enjoyed throughout the year as well. Prepare this salad a day ahead for the best flavor and texture.


  • 3 large bunches of broccoli, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 red onion, minced
  • 1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • raisins if desired
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Stir together broccoli, cheese, onion, and bacon in a large bowl. Also add raisins if you are including them.
  2. In a smaller bowl, combine remaining ingredients.
  3. Toss the two mixtures together in the larger bowl.
