Here's a delicious and impressive holiday recipe for cranberry tartlets.


  • 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • Crystal sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a tartlet pan.
  2. In the bowl of a food processor, whir together 3/4 cup walnuts, butter, sugar, and flour until it resembles a coarse meal. Transfer to a bowl.
  3. Stir in the egg and almond extract until the dough just comes together; stir in the cranberries.
  4. Press the filling into the tartlet pan and sprinkle with remaining walnuts and sugar. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before removing from pans.
