A little bit of chocolate goes a long way in this delicious recipe for Chocolate Spritz Cookie Dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract or vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • Few drops of red or green food color, if desired
  • 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate

Directions

  1. Combine butter and sugar in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Melt and cool chocolate then stir into sugar mixture.
  3. Stir in flour, almond extract or vanilla, salt, egg, and food coloring if desired.
  4. Use a cookie press to form and arrange cookies on an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake in a 400 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 6-9 minutes. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
