Cruchy and chewy blend perfectly in this delicious recipe for Caramel Turtle Bars. Perfect for dessert or after school snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter, softenend
  • 1 egg
  • 14 ounces caramels
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Blend Bisquick, oats, brown sugar, butter and egg. Form into the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking pan.
  2. Bake oat crust at 35o degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, then cool.
  3. Begin melting caramels in a pan with milk over low heat. Stir until smooth; then, smear evenly over crust and sprinkle with pecans.
  4. Next, melt chocolate chips in the pan over low heat. When smooth, use a fork to lightly drizzle over entire pan.
  5. Cool before serving.
