Black Bottom Cherry Dessert is a yummy chocolate and cherry treat on a crispy crust. Easy preparation and quick cooking time make this the perfect recipe for entertaining and last minute good impressions.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 3/4 cup Bisquick
  • 2/3 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling
  • 1/4 cup white baking chips
  • 2 teaspoons shortening

Directions

  1. In a bowl, stir together powdered sugar, almond extract, egg, and cream cheese. Add Bisquick and stir to form dough.
  2. Form a 12-inch dough circle on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes until crust is lightly golden.
  3. Cover hot crust with chocolate chips and bake an additional 1 minute.
  4. As chips melt, spread evenly over crust then cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Move crust onto serving plate. Spread cherry filling over chocolate.
  6. In a small pan over low heat, melt white baking chips and shortening. Use a fork to drizzle topping over pie filling.
