1 large egg
2 large egg yolks
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
Zest or grated orange peel from one orange.
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups flour
Oil for frying
Confectionary sugar for rolling
How to make this recipe:
Mix together egg, egg yolks, sugar, butter, orange zest and milk till well blended. Slowly stir in flour and baking powder. Heat up 4 inches of oil in a heavy saucepan or skillet. Lower the temperature to medium. Using a slotted spoon, drop one tablespoon of the dough into the oil. Fry till evenly dark brown on all sides. Place doughnuts on paper towels.
