3-4 cups water
2 cups yellow split peas
1/2 cup cut carrots
Dried chives (for color)
Ham shank or ham hock
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
How to make this recipe:
In a medium saucepan, put all ingredients in and bring to a slow boil then simmer. The taste is rich and hearty, and healthy! Serve with hearty slice of bread and real butter for a filling quick meal.
