Chocolate Cherry Torte

Ingredients:
1 lb chocolate covered graham cracker cookies (56 cookies)
1 c butter or margarine
2 envelopes whipped topping mix
1 cup cold milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pkg cream cheese softened (8oz) softened
2 cans (21 oz each) cherry pie filling

Directions:
Crush the cookies and set 1/4 cup aside for the topping. Combine the remaining cookies with the butter and spread into a 13x9 inch pan.In a mixing bowl, combine the whipped topping mixes, milk and vanilla and beat on a low speed until blended.

Beat on high for four minutes until stiff peaks form. Add cream cheese; beat until smooth. Spread over crust; top with pie filling. Sprinkle with reserved cookies.

Refrigerate 12-24 hrs before serving.
