Grandma's Quick Vegetable SoupThis vegetable soup calls for ham, instead of the usual beef! The recipe has been passed down in the family, and wonderful for COLD nights!
Ingredients:
1 package frozen butter beans
1 package frozen corn
1 package frozen cut okra
2 cans whole tomatoes, chopped (include juice)
1 slab of thick cut Pre-cooked Ham (in meat section)Directions:
In a big soup pot, mix butter beans, corn, okra, and 2 cans of tomatoes, cut up. Cut ham into bite-size pieces and add to ingredients.
Pour in water - you may keep adding, until you have your preference. Season with salt and pepper.
Allow to cook for at least 30 min. to 1 hour.Serve with cornbread!
