Caramel apple pound cake is a fun and sweet dessert to serve both at home or at parties. Add a little salt to the caramel for an even more delicious flavor!

Caramel apple pound cake

Makes 1 (9-inch) Bundt cake


For the cake:

  • 2 sticks butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large sweet apples, peeled and grated

For the caramel:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spray a 9-inch Bundt pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, milk, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Sift in the flour, baking powder and salt and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in the grated apples until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 60 to 75 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely before removing from the pan and drizzling with the caramel glaze.
  8. When the cake is completely cool make the caramel glaze by combining the heavy cream, brown sugar and honey in a heavy saucepan.
  9. Bring to a boil and cook until a candy thermometer reads 225 degrees F, about soft ball stage.
  10. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla and salt.
  11. Stir until the temperature drops about 20 degrees and allow to cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes before glazing the cake.
  12. Pour glaze generously over the cake.
  13. Serve.
