This is one perfectly sweet layered trifle. Apples, caramel, vanilla pudding and crunchy granola. What's not to love?

Apples are delicious but they're even better when paired with caramel, crunchy granola and pudding. You're going to love this simple dessert. Swap out the pudding for yogurt and you have a sweet breakfast treat.

Caramel apple trifles

Yields 1 trifle


  • 1/4 cup vanilla pudding
  • 1/4 cup granola
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup spiced apples


  1. In a small jar or trifle glass, add half the vanilla pudding, half the granola, half the caramel sauce and half the apples.
  2. Complete another layer and chill.
  3. Serve cold.

Spiced apples

Yields about 1/2 cup spiced apples


  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and diced small
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • Pinch kosher salt


  1. In a small skillet, add butter and melt over medium heat.
  2. Add in apples, dark brown sugar, apple pie spice and kosher salt.
  3. Cook for about 10 minutes on medium-low heat until the apples are soft but not falling apart.
  4. Let apples cool before adding to trifle.
