Tired of your same ol’ cereal for breakfast? Add some variety to your morning routine by serving up this decadent, cheesy and filling waffle breakfast sandwich.

Waffle breakfast sandwich

Waffles aren't just for eating with a fork and maple syrup. This breakfast sandwich replaces normal bread, bagels or muffins with waffles, giving each bite a toasty crunch and sweetness. These make the perfect Sunday morning breakfast!

Eggo waffle breakfast sandwich

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 Eggo waffles
  • 2 eggs, cooked sunny side up
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 slices turkey bacon

Directions:

  1. Defrost waffles.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until crispy, about 6 minutes.
  3. Heat the butter over medium heat. Place 1 Eggo on the butter. Top with 1 slice cheese, 1 egg, 2 slices bacon and another slice of cheese. Top with the second Eggo.
  4. Cook the sandwich until cheese is melted and eggs are browned, about 4 to 5 minutes.
