Serves 6-8

Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1-1/2 cups warm water
  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

For the topping:

  • 1 (15 ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup granular sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the packet of yeast with the 1-1/2 cups warm water. Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Transfer the yeast mixture to a stand mixer with dough hook attachment.
  3. Add in the flour, olive oil, salt and sugar and mix on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until a dough is formed.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  6. On a well-floured surface, roll the dough out to a 12-inch diameter crust. Transfer the crust to a baking sheet.
  7. Spread the apple pie filling over the top of the crust.
  8. In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugars, cinnamon and melted butter. Sprinkle over the top of the pizza.
  9. Bake the pizza in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until the crust is lightly golden-brown.
  10. While the pizza cools, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl. Drizzle the frosting over the top of the pizza, and then slice and serve.
