Father's Day beer bratwurst recipe

Father's Day beer bratwurst recipe
Serves 5
Dads love beer and dads love bratwurst. Make it a winning combination and combine the two this Father's Day with this beer bratwurst recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 package of bratwurst
- 1 large white or yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 (24 ounce) dark beer
- 1 package of bratwurst buns
Directions:
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill bratwurst, turning halfway through, until they are cooked thoroughly, approximately 20 minutes.
- Melt butter in a large pot on the stove. Once the butter is melted add the sliced onion and cook for 5 minutes until they become tender.
- Add 2 tablespoons of packed brown sugar to the onions and stir until combined.
- Pour the dark beer into the pot and bring it to a simmer. Add the cooked bratwurst and simmer over low heat for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove the bratwurst from the pan, top with the cooked onions and serve.
