There is really no limit to the number of ways you can prepare a yummy strudel. From savory to sweet, give these scrumptious strudels a try next time you're looking for a few fantastic dessert recipes. But don't let us limit you, either. Cinnamon apple strudel

Shrimp, swiss and asiago strudel

Servings: 4 to 10

Depending on how you slice it, you can serve this strudel as an entrée or an appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Asiago cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup green onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • few drops hot sauce

Directions

  1. Roll thawed puff pastry into an 18-by-10-inch rectangle.
  2. Mix cheese, sour cream, green onion, shrimp and some of the egg (reserve the rest for step 4.)
  3. Spread the mixture lengthwise down half of the rectangle, leaving a half-inch border on edge.
  4. Brush the edges of the pastry with the remainder of the beaten egg.
  5. Fold dough over, then seal the edges using your fingers or the tines of a fork to crimp. Move the strudel to a large baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until light brown.
  7. Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing.

Easy apple cinnamon strudel

Servings: 8

This easy recipe modifies the classic apple strudel recipe so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time doing… one of the 80 million other things on your list. Get going!

Ingredients

  •  1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, divided
  • 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

  1. Cook prepped apples in a pot with the apple juice flour and 1/4 cup of the brown sugar until fork tender, but still slightly crisp. Remove from heat and cool.
  2. In a bowl, mix apples, walnuts, raisins, cinnamon, and the remaining 1/4 of the brown sugar.

Easy peach strudel

Servings: 8

Try this alternative to the classic strudel recipe for a quick and easy crowd pleaser. And by subbing peaches for the traditional apples, you can summon the summer season… even if you're stuck in the snow!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar, plus 2 tablespoons
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large can of sliced peaches
  • 2  tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • whipped cream, for topping

Directions

  1. Using Pam or butter, "grease" the bottom of an 8-by-8 inch baking dish.
  2. Line the bottom of the dish with the peaches, then sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  3. Drop squares of cold cut butter on top.
  4. Mix 1 cup sugar, baking powder, flour, salt and egg.
  5. Crumble topping over the peaches.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
  7. Allow to slightly cool before topping with whipped cream to serve.
